Why · How · What

A clearer first pass for electricity cost decisions.

WattWise exists to help households and small businesses see the usage and rate assumptions behind an electricity bill before they commit money or confidence to it.

Why we built it

Electricity decisions are often made from incomplete information: unknown usage, misunderstood tiers, ignored fixed fees, or time-of-use windows that were never checked. The purpose of this site is to make those unknowns visible early, while options are still easy to compare.

How we try to earn trust

  • We ask you to enter the usage and rate assumptions that drive the result instead of presenting a single unexplained score.
  • We define common outputs such as monthly bill, effective rate, payback years, and lifetime savings in plain language.
  • We keep rate baselines dated and distinguish editorial averages from your current tariff evidence.
  • We state what still needs confirmation from your utility tariff, meter data, installer quotes, and equipment specifications.
  • We welcome reports about unclear definitions, broken calculations, stale observations, and missing source context through the Contact page.

What you will find here

You can use the calculators for bills, appliances, solar payback, EV charging, time-of-use rates, commercial demand, HVAC, and lighting. You can also read practical guides and save assumptions and reports in the private Workspace.

What we do not claim

WattWise is a planning tool. It does not provide investment, tax, legal, or engineering advice. A calculator output is not a utility bill, quote, approval, guarantee, or forecast of performance.
